Massive Multi-media event !

Largest Projection Screen Ever Taken On Tour!

Star Warstm: In Concert features stunning visuals, live orchestra, choir and narration, plus an exclusive exhibit of Star Wars costumes, props and more!

Star WarsTM: In Concert, the unique multi-media event featuring music from all six of John Williams’ epic Star Wars scores, will play one performance at Giant Center on Tuesday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, May 1 at 10:00 a.m. The performance in Hershey is part of the return of Star WarsTM: In Concert to North America, a fifty-city leg of the worldwide tour that starts May 13 in Ft. Myers, Florida, and will include dates in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Over 350,000 Americans attended Star Wars: In Concert during its three-month inaugural 47-city North American tour last year, which Pollstar rated as the 9th biggest tour of 2009 in January.

With live narration by Anthony Daniels (the actor who portrayed C-3PO in all six films), the production features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, high-definition LED super-screen – one of the largest ever put on tour.

The footage actually runs in sync with the live music to create a full multi-media, one-of-kind Star Wars experience. “We’ve taken the key themes from the music and cut together all the images that fit with each theme, so you can really get a sense of how the music played into the images,” said George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars Saga.

“The whole soundtrack is a testament to John Williams’ creativity and his extraordinary ability to enhance the emotional aspects of the films,” said Lucas.

“Creating the music for the Star Wars films has been an exciting and wonderful experience for me, and I therefore have derived particular pleasure in assembling a compendium of themes from all of the films to be presented in Star Wars in Concert,” said John Williams.

“The editors at Lucasfilm have created original film montages to accompany each of the musical selections, and in the process, I believe that a singular and unique Star Wars experience has been born.” “This event has been crafted to present Star Wars from many points of view; for the first time, the full dramatic sweep of Williams’ iconic scores can be heard performed live in one evening,” said Another Planet Touring Producer Spencer Churchill.

"The show is a new way of experiencing the epic scope of the saga.” Accompanying the concert is an exclusive exhibit of Star Wars costumes, props, artifacts, production artwork and specially created behind-the-scenes videos from the Lucasfilm Archives. Many of these pieces are leaving Skywalker Ranch for the first time ever.

The exhibit features many classic fan favorite artifacts, as well as several new and never before seen items, including:

  • Full costumes for Jedi Masters Kit Fisto and Plo Koon will be on display.
  • For the first time ever, pages from John Williams' original hand-written sheet music for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace will be exhibited for the public.

Also on display will be various never-before-seen props from the films, including blasters and helmets from Coruscant, Tatooine and other iconic Star Wars locations.

BIERGARTEN AT HERSHEY GARDENS, Annville Inn B&B

A signature event of Hershey Gardens is Biergarten, a celebration of a product of the earth! Come enjoy a selection of micro brews, live music, the outdoor glory that is Hershey Gardens, some 70,000 tulips, daffodils and other spring and summer flowering bulbs, the rarest of rare trees, and one of the country's most enjoyable Biergartens.

In Germany, beer was stored near rivers in underground cellars in order to keep the beer cool. Large shade trees were also planted to provide cooling shade. Eventually, gardens were set up under the trees with the singular purpose of providing a cool, relaxing venue for enjoying a mug of beer.

In keeping with that theme, Hershey Gardens celebrates the Biergartens of long ago with a spectacular outdoor setting that is verdant, pastoral, bucolic and at the same time filled with energy from the live music, the other people attending, and the excitement of going from booth to booth, sampling new brews.

But wait! There is more: Partici-pants will also be able to attend, at no extra charge, a special cooking with beer class "un-der the big top," with a well known area chef.

Also included is a colonial beer making demonstration with costumed beer making experts, creating beer the way it was brewed in the colonies, using wood, fire, large copper cauldrons, wooden ladles, etc.

All participants will have the entire Hershey Gardens available to explore and enjoy. (Be sure to restrict beer consumption and smoking so specific areas designated strictly for those purposes.)

Cell Phones For Soldiers, Annville Inn B&B

Cell Phones for Soldiers & Annville Inn B&B Kick off Cell Phone Collection Drive

Campaign buys phone cards for solders!

NORWELL, Mass., April 4, 2010– More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas and are away from their families. Cell Phones for Soldiers, and Annville Inn Bed & Breakfast are calling on all Americans to support for these brave men and women by donating their unused cell phones. Cell Phones for Soldiers hopes to collect over 50,000 cell phones this year to help keep troops connected with their families. Cell Phones For Soldiers’ goal is every minute of every day a soldier can phone home.

“Over the past few years, we have been amazed by the generosity of others. But, we have also seen the need to support our troops continue.” says Brittany Bergquist, Cell Phones for Soldiers co-founder. “It is easy for Americans to make a small sacrifice of support by donating their unused cell phones, and providing families with a much-needed connection to their loved ones overseas.”

Annville Inn’s owner, Rosalie George, and her husband both come from military families, and currently have family members serving overseas in the U.S. Marine Corps. “We know how important it is for family members to stay in touch with their heroes overseas,” Rosalie says, “and we want to do our part to make these connections possible.”

The company that recycles the phones for eventual sales in order to raise cash to by phone cards for soldiers is ReCellular, founded in 1991. The company is dedicated to supporting charities and protecting the environment. Every 16 months, U.S. consumers are retiring an estimated 130 million cell phones and only 10 percent of those phones are being recycled. There are tons of phones in junk drawers across America, waiting to be collected and turned into calling card cash.

Annville Inn expects local residents as well as Inn guests to support the collection by donating cell phones for soldiers at: Annville Inn Bed & Breakfast, 4515 Hill Church Road, Annville, Pa. 17003. You can call ahead by phoning 867-1991. Receipts are available for tax deductions. Cell Phones for Soldiers is an IRS authorized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

“We’re proud to show our support for U.S. soldiers, and to contribute to a worthy cause like Cell Phones for Soldiers,” says Mrs. George, Innkeeper.

Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded by teenagers Robbie and Brittany Bergquist from Norwell, Mass., with $21 of their own money. Since then, the registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization has raised almost $1 million in donations and distributed more than 500,000 prepaid calling cards to soldiers serving overseas.

“W e are continuously overwhelmed by the enthusiastic support of thousands of Americans who have helped our troops speak with their loved ones,” says the teens’ father, Bob Bergquist. “However, the need for support keeps growing as more soldiers are sent to the Middle East or are asked to serve extended tours of duty.”

Through increased fundraising efforts, the Bergquist family hopes to raise more than $9 million in the next five years to fund new programs, such as providing video phones and prepaid service to allow soldiers abroad to see their families on a regular basis.

The donated phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each phone – enough to provide an hour of talk time to soldiers abroad.

Approximately half of the phones ReCellular processes are reconditioned and resold to wholesale companies in over 40 countries around the world. Phones and components that cannot be refurbished are dismantled and recycled to reclaim materials, including:

Gold, silver and platinum from circuit boards
Copper wiring from phone chargers
Nickel, iron, cadmium and lead from battery packs
Plastic from phone cases and accessories

About Cell Phones for Soldiers:
Cell Phones for Soldiers was created by Brittany & Robbie Bergquist of Norwell , MA. After reading a story about a soldier who ran up a huge phone bill calling home from Iraq, these two teenagers decided to help out. They started by opening an account with $21.00 of their own money. They are collecting cash donations and old cell phones. The cell phones are recycled for cash and the proceeds are used to buy prepaid calling cards for our soldiers serving in the Middle East. Cell Phones For Soldiers is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Their efforts have motivated people and businesses around the country to donate to this worthy cause. Today, numerous Fortune 500 companies are sponsors, as evidenced by their corporate logos on the Cell Phones for Soldiers Web site. Their goal is to provide every US soldier with a way to call home for free.

Please Click here to visit the official Cell Phones for Soldiers Web site, and please don't forget to dig up your old cell phones and bring or send them to Annville Inn B&B.
